Welcome to the 2010 Optician Awards website, the starting point for your journey to reward and recognition.
This website contains all of the information you need to make your entry to the 2010 Optician Awards. Firstly have a look through our 15 categories and decide which ones you would like to enter. Next, take some time to read the criteria for that category and try and cover those points in your entry statement.
The entry statement itself should be between 500 and 1,000 words and should be supplied in the relevant category. Make sure you supply all of the information requested. Remember, you will be judged on your performance, not how well written your entry is so make sure the judges have all of the information they need.
Your statement should explain why you, or your practice, deserve to win the award and provide answers to the question in the category criteria. Most importantly it should convey the passion you have for that particular area of optics.
All of the entries will go through a shortlisting process so feel free to list any supporting information you intend to send through to convince the judges that you should win.
The shortlists will be revealed in Optician and on the website shortly after the closing date 25th January 2010 and a new deadline for full entries will be announced. Those on a shortlist will be asked to submit their full entry with supporting materials.
The awards presentations will be made at a black tie dinner and evening of entertainment at the London Hilton on Park Lane on April 17, 2010. The theme will be Paris in Springtime. Presenters and entertainment will be announced closer to the date.
